How to Become a Tutor on Preply: Step-by-Step Guide

Preply is one of the few big tutoring platforms that accepts teachers from many countries and for many subjects. Here is the registration process based on Preply’s own help pages.

Before you start

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • Registration as a tutor works on the desktop version of Preply, not on mobile (Preply Help).
  • Keep a passport, government ID or residence permit ready for identity verification.

Step-by-step

  1. Sign up: Go to preply.com/en/teach and click “Become a tutor”.
  2. Profile photo: A clear, square, head-and-shoulders photo with good lighting and a plain background, with no logos or contact details.
  3. Headline: 50 to 70 characters that say what you offer.
  4. Description: More than 400 characters, without your full name or contact details.
  5. Certificates and education: Optional, but they build trust.
  6. Intro video: 30 seconds to 2 minutes, following Preply’s video guidelines.
  7. Calendar and price: Set your availability and your hourly rate (you can change it later).
  8. Wait for review: About 5 working days.

Common reasons for rejection

  • Profile does not match guidelines (photo, video, description)
  • The subject has low demand

Payments

Earnings collect in your Preply balance and can be withdrawn through supported methods such as Payoneer or Skrill, depending on your country (Preply). Check which methods work in Pakistan in your account settings.
